Horseback Riding in the Mountains

Pat surprised me by booking a horseback ride through the mountains while we passed through Hinton on our way to Edmonton. It was at the Old Entrance Bed & Breakfast.
We went for 1 hour & a half - good thing it wasn't longer, I was SORE after!
My horse's name was Blaze - she had a bit of an appetite, slowing to nibble on anything she could grab along the way.
I didn't bring the camera with me, but luckily Pat used his phone to take a few (before it died).
We went along beside the river for a while, crossed a stream, then headed up the mountain.
Since we were on our way out of the mountains, the ridge we were on wasn't that tall, but it was still high enough.
Especially when the horses are walking right along the edge of the ridge. Or stumbling, like Pat's horse was prone to do.
Pat's camera died before we went even higher & closer to the edge than this photo shows.
It was SO much fun! The horses mostly walked, but the guide let them trot faster a few times. Fun - but ouch. Even with the pain, I want to go riding again!

Whoa! An hour and a half is a long time when you are not used to it! The muscles in your torso get sore from holding you steady. Not to mention........
I love it too.
