Featuring: kalicat

Another day, another challenge feature. Today I am featuring the wonderful shop of kalicat. Recognize that ring? It's her very distinctive avatar ~ a truly eye-catching piece. This sunshine flower ring is made of brass and can have a brushed or polished finish. Very, very pretty.

Kalicat is a mom of two (where does she find the time to create such gorgeous jewelry?) and has some jewelry making training at Central St Martins and Hatton Gardens, in London. She is an artist and illustrator as well, though you won't see any evidence of that in her shop (right now anyway, there are 2 in her sold items). If you check out her website though, you will see some of her artwork, and learn that various editorials, advertising, book covers and apparel feature her illustrations. She has a beautifully wispy style.

If you would like to be included in a mailing list to hear about sales and other promotions, send kalicat your email. Also, if you have an idea for a custom piece, feel free to message her; she would be more than happy to oblige! She is also part of the Art Jewelry Collective (check out their site for many more amazing artists).

Here are some of my favourites from her shop. It was very difficult choosing a few to feature! Of course, I always look at the bracelets first, because these are my favourite piece of jewelry. I wish I didn't have to wear long sleeves in the winter ~ they really get in the way of a nice bracelet. This purple rhapsody bracelet is my absolute favourite. Laden with amethyst, rose quartz, smokey quartz and citrine chips, this adornment is sure to bring music into your life. This bracelet even comes in a jewelry box, ready for gift giving ~ which is especially sweet when given to yourself!

These Nera Blums sterling silver earrings are simply stunning! The centre of the flowers are oxidized so that they really pop. These are classic earrings that you could wear anywhere, all the time.

Another pair of earrings that I couldn't resist are these Alicia earrings. A large, almost barrel shaped smoky quartz bead is surrounded by cherry quartz and amethyst rondelles to make a delicate combination that is sure to be your favourite for that night out or special dinner. And the soft tones would look amazing with almost anything, adding a little girly touch (but not too girly).

One more pair of earrings that I couldn't resist are these dotty blue turquoise and silver ones. Polka dots seem to be a big hit on Etsy right now, and how can they not?! These dots are so adorable, just the perfect amount of turquoise balanced on these clean cut brushed silver circles. Effortless and stunning.

Next is another snazzy purl silver ring. A jingly bundle of black and white freshwater pearls and rock crystal nuggets make this a striking ring that you will want to wear whenever you need to really make an impression ~ whether for an interview or first date. The subtle silvery tones is sure to match with whatever outfit you're wearing.

Didn't see something special for yourself (or someone special) within my favourites? There's plenty more in store that is sure to strike your fancy!! Run on over to kalicat now!! And while you're at it, why don't you take a peak at her blog? Since she is part of the challenge, you'll be able to see many more features of awesome Etsy artists who took the challenge!
