Collections: Salt & Pepper Shakers

This collection post was inspired by a friend's blog on the topic. Indeed, it was a recent theme for Vintage Love Saturday over at Southern Lady Vintage (so click on over to see more great salt & pepper shakers).

My collection started with these plain, old dollar store ones:
Boring, I know, but you have to start somewhere!

Next, I found these sweet little birds at a stationary store called Write Impressions.
It was such a cute little store, but they closed the location that was just down the street from me.

One summer, I found these awesome lemons on discount at the pharmacy - I couldn't pass them up!

My sister-in-law found these robin's blue egg-shaped ones for me around Easter this year.
I love how they complement the birds in colour & the lemons in shape & size.

Finally, the prize of my collection - a vintage set, given to me by my gramma:
OK, so technically I had this set first, but I've never used it & only thought of it as decoration until I had collected a few more. I'll have to ask my gramma again where she got it - either her mom or music teacher I think (I met her piano instructor once when we went to a regular mass held at the convent near my gramma's - she was a sweet little nun).
In case you can't read that, it was distributed in Canada by Mostly Music Gifts & Accessories (there's a postal code too, but no date). Want a closer look?
Ideal melodies. Inspiring ideal memories.

What do you collect?

How cute they all are, but of course the cute piano and piano bench ones pull this lady's heart strings. Thank you so much for joining in on Vintage Love Saturday! Please come back and join in again!
