The Ancaster Gem show was pretty cool to see - there were so many mineral samples to look at & buy. And beads. Oh the beads! There were also some classes, seminars & demonstrations being held the entire weekend. I wanted to see a glass-making demo this morning - but we got a little turned around finding the Ancaster fairgrounds & we missed it...
I did enjoy browsing through all the booths though. Here's what I ended up with:
A nice haul I think. There are some ceramic beads:
A neat jasper stone that looks like a fossil:
Yep, you can see through it:
A large fire agate egg-shaped bead:
And -what I'm most excited about - a strand of lepidocrocite Madagascar quartz:
The dark speckles in the large quartz nuggets are really pretty.
I haven't yet decided what to make with all these... going to start thinking of designs.
The Lepidochrosite reminds me of ice! Very pretty beads! I love going to bead shows. It's about my favorite activity in the world!
