I participate in an ACEO swap (
MAMMA's) where we have a new challenge each week. We must interpret each weeks theme, and create an ACEO for swapping. It has been
a lot of fun. This week's challenge is
Gustav Klimt, an artist you may or may not have heard of ~ but I'll guarantee you've seen at least one of his magnificent paintings (most likely
The Kiss).
The reason I mention all this is that while searching Etsy for some inspiration, I came across today's item of the day:

This gorgeous
painting of Frida by
wjcatnip was inspired by Klimt, and I thought her angelic expression was perfect for today's feature.

I like catnips painting. Mostly I liek the bacground, because I love testures. I Particularly like the way the bacground texture is continues in her necklace and dress. The theme is familiar, but I have not studied KLIMPT. It this texture effect in the style of Klimpt?
Usually people paint Frida like Frida painted... and I don't tend to love her style... But this one is amazing.
Its just beautiful!
