Tutorial: Striped Pumpkin

I love simple little crafts - especially when the end result is to make decorations for a holiday! Here's a fun way to dress up those Halloween pumpkins without the mess of carving it!

Striped Pumpkin

Materials:

1 small pumpkin or gourd
black ribbon - more than one kind / design / colour is fun
hot glue gun

Methods:

1. Gather your material & plug in your glue gun.
2. Measure you ribbon against your pumpkin - from the stem to the bottom. Cut as many length as you like.
3. Add a dab of glue beside the stem & press the end of a length of ribbon into it.
Continue all the way around the stem until you are happy with the placement of the stripes.
4. Glue down the rest of the ribbon. I glue small sections at a time, ending with the bottom.
The ribbon ends up being flatter this way.
And you're done! Use the pumpkin in your holiday decor!

Fun ideas: Use black, orange, green or purple ribbon on a white pumpkin. Play around with the sizes of the ribbon, as well as different designs & colours. Decorate a variety of gourds in a similar manner. Finish off the stem with a bow.

If you try this out, post a link to a picture in the comments - I'd love to see your fall decor!
