My Creative Space: Beaded Jewelry

I was going to show you my latest girl, but I thought maybe we could take a bit of a break from the painting. I did just that this past weekend, as it so happens, so I do have other things going on in my creative space. I had my jewelry making supplies out to fix something and started rummaging through the silver findings Sunday morning. It wasn't long before I had my beads out too and I was rearranging different combinations.

This was the first piece I worked on - I've been hoarding these clay beads for over two years now (they're from a bead show I went to in Hamilton):

I also have some of these beads in blues/greens, so I designed a necklace and earrings set with those. I only got around to making the earrings though:

Instead of making the matching necklace, I got distracted by these cute clouds:

I was also sidetracked by all the beautiful beads I have in singles. So I collected them (and a few others) and strung them into bracelets, playing around a bit with a gradient effect:

There are a few more unfinished pieces that I decided not to photograph - I'll be getting to those this weekend.

More creative spaces here.
