I borrowed Outlander by Diana Gabaldon from a friend at work - it came highly recommended & I can only agree. I spent the past 2 months engrossed in this book & its 2 sequels (there are 7 in the series). The story is a bit fantastic - the main character falls through a circle of stones only to find herself 200 years in the past - but still completely believable. The characters are so real and lovable, it's almost as though you are a part of their lives. This book made me laugh out loud, cry, shiver in anticipation.... it has definitely earned its place at the top of my favourites list.
