As promised, here's a peek at my latest painting, a mixed-media piece called Take the Plunge.

 This is by far my favourite finished painting. While I prefer the yellow background I showed you last Thursday, & I'll probably end up loving that finished piece more, it is as yet unfinished. So this soaring bird is my current fave. Here's where I've hung the painting for now (& I may be secretly hoping I get to keep it for some time, as it's a perfect addition to this corner of my living room):

Although I've already shown the following photos on my blog, it's been a long time. So, for fun, here's a look at the very beginning of this painting: First, a layer of gesso. I wrote a few thoughts in charcoal while it was still wet for added texture.
