Sketchbook Pages: Personal Mountain

I mentioned a new page in my altered Amber book... well, here it is:
I played around with some of my new supplies; so much fun! There are tons of layers - check it out:
  1. gesso
  2. alphabet rub-ons (using up some old supplies) - covered with gel medium to secure
  3. paint (new colours: titan buff, sap green hue, red oxide, iridescent copper light)
  4. drippy India ink circles (orange, brown), spritzed with water a bit for texture
  5. three collaged elements
  6. next I tried out my palette knife (titan buff, Indian yellow hue)
  7. while that dried, I searched through my "words" envelope and decided on a mountain theme
  8. outlined the mountains in black India ink
  9. collaged words
  10. paint (sap green hue, mixed a bit with the still wet black India ink)
  11. washi tape to finish
Phew! Seems like a lot, but it all came together rather quickly. Here are the (many) close-ups:
These fall colours really make me happy. You'll see that I continued on with the mountain theme in my next page... but I'll show you that later.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend - we're off to see Neil Young tonight. I can't wait!
